SIL (Supported Independent Living)

SIL is an NDIS-funded support that pays for assistance with daily tasks in a shared or individual living arrangement, focused on developing skills to live as independently as possible.

SIL funding pays for staffing — not rent or food. The dwelling itself may be funded through Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), the participant's own arrangements, or community housing. SIL ratios describe staff-to-participant coverage across day, evening, and overnight periods.

SIL operations need rostering aware of ratios, claim rules that match SIL-specific line items, and incident registers that respect shared-house dynamics — capabilities HealthOS treats as core, not an add-on.
